The
Checkerboard
percentage is the stimulus (or signal level) of the white rectangles. The black rectangles always have 0% stimulus. The
"White"
and
"Black"
percentages represent the illumination of the rectangles and are relative to 100% "full on" illumination. The
gamma curve
is a power function that takes the black-level error into account, so it is not a pure power function. The calculations are based on a theoretical model. Actual results may vary.
